Sports Field: Napton's new and impressive sports field was built in 2002, after Sport for Napton claimed the fields at the end of Dog Lane. Before completion in 2004, Napton trained and played at Daventry, but since opening, the ground has improved it's facilities ever more. It now boasts an all weather football surface which is available for hire, tennis and netball courts, a cricket pitch with two practice nets, a full size football pitch, with a smaller pitch the other side, and a skateboard at the bottom. As well as this, a brilliant new pavilion was opened in 2007, complete with showers, changing rooms, and a bar. Future plans for the sports field include a wall for football and tennis practice nd a new goalpost for training. Sport for Napton are also looking at redraining the full size football pitch though there is no timescale for this, and major fund raising would have to take place. |
